Article About Entertaiment
Entertainment is a broad term that includes any form of recreation, diversion or amusement. It can take the form of anything from a single person choosing personal entertainment from a variety of pre-recorded products, to a banquet adapted for two, to a full scale production intended for thousands or even a global audience.
Often, entertainments serve a serious purpose in addition to providing amusement and pleasure. Examples of this are ceremonial activities, religious festivals or satire.
Entertainment can also be inspiring – the story of Scheherazade, an important professional storytelling tradition in many cultures, has led to orchestral works by Rimsky-Korsakov and Ravel, films by Pasolini and Szymanowski and innovative video games. Entertainment can be a source of great joy or sorrow, depending on the subject and the context in which it is presented.
