Entertaiment

In these times when money is tight, it’s easy to forget how much entertainment contributes to a well-rounded life. Independent recording artists and filmmakers are able to produce their work with minimal resources and are selling it through the Internet at a fraction of the cost of major studios. People are still going to the movies, buying new albums and downloading music through sites such as iTunes, Amazon. And the SU2C model of bringing world-class scientists together across institutions has the potential to accelerate research breakthroughs and make major advances against cancer.

The word “entertainment” is derived from the Latin inter-tenere, which means to hold inside. It also has roots in Indo-European, including the prefix ten, meaning to stretch or elongate.
